Spooky Season | A Clue-Inspired Mystery Dinner Party
t was a matter of life after death. Now that he’s dead, I have a life.”

What better way to get in the spirit of spooky season, than gather all of your foolish, mortal friends for a night of drinks, dinner, and mystery!
Some willing participants and I did just that – we gathered at a spectacular house in Ohio City and, each in character, sleuthed and solved a devious mystery.
The story and characters were laid out for us by Night of Mystery, which gave us the materials and setup we needed to make the night seamless and endlessly fun. We opted for a Clue-inspired theme to fit the vibe of the space, and everyone showed up decked out to play their part. The rumors and plot twists that swirled in conversations all night kept us guessing until the very end – and the reveal of the murderer surprised us all!
To keep things running smoothly, we appointed someone ahead of time to be the host of the evening, who would read the pertinent instructions, and roughly keep track of time. I highly recommend choosing someone ahead of time to do this, so they already have an idea of the structure of the night before going into it. Don’t worry, it doesn’t spoil the mystery!
Bringing a photographer in for the first hour gave us a chance to relax without feeling the need to be snapping photos – it was a night of living in the moment, which made it even better.
The resulting shots were too good not to share. If this inspires you, I recommend putting together an event like this for your next spooky season celebration!
